The 7th Annual Irish Film & Television Awards gets underway next month in Dublin. Janice Byrne has been nominated 'Actress in a lead role - Feature Film', for her dipiction of Jenny Cassidy in Zonad (Element Pictures). Tatiana Uliankina's talent has been acknowledged again, this is her second nomination at the IFTA's, this year Tatiana is listed for 'Actress in a supporting role - Television', for her portrayal of Sacha in Belonging to Laura (Accomplice Television). Alan Devlin is due to make his return to stage at The Gaiety theatre, in their forthcoming production of Philadelphia Here I Come. Producer Noel Pearson has appointed Dominic Dromgoole, Artistic Director of Shakespeare's Globe Theatre to direct.

Frank McCusker, who plays the character of "Risley", recently completed his second season on Showtime's award winning drama - The Tudors. Joanne King (Lady Rochford), concluded her third and final year on the series. Season 4 will be aired on Showtime, BBC and TV3 next year.

David Heap recently joined the cast of Magma Films latest project, Jack Taylor; an adaptation of Ken Bruen's highly acclaimed novel-The Guards. The pilot series was shot a short time ago in County Galway, Stuart Orme (Inspector Morse, Merlin) directs, with Iain Glen leading the cast. Pre-production is pencilled for May 2010.

Shooting has commenced in Galway for The Seven of Easter/Seachtar na Casca, a drama documentary series which tells the story of the 7 Signatories of the 1916 proclamation. The series is been produced by award winning Abu Media, headed by Pierce Boyce and will be directed by IFTA winner, writer and director Daithi Keane.
